Message from Kyrill Bland
of 38 Jubilee Crescent, Whakatane,
formerly of Christchurch, Greymouth and New Lynn

To the relatives and friends of Evan, on 11 December 2003

We experience great loss and we suffer together at this time of premature and
sudden loss of our good friend Evan. He and I have been friends since 1974
when he was a young boy. We had very enjoyable associations together in
church events and in countryside activities when in his teens, twenties and
thirties. Even when we lived far apart we still visited each other whenever
possible.

I cherish the memories of -
his loyal friendship to me personally,
his openness to discuss personal things,
his love of the simple joys of life,
reading the Bible and praying with me,
his support of good causes,
his voluntary helpfuless for long periods of time to meet a need.

In times of enjoyment and success, and also in severe difficulties and
set-backs he still looked on the bright side and did his best, whatever the
circumstances.

He valued his belief in Jesus, and the preciousness of Jesus' forgiveness.
Together we await the resurrection day and our reunion with him.

2 Corinthians 1:3,4 CEV
"The Father is a merciful God, who always gives us comfort. He comforts us
when we are in trouble, so that we can share that same comfort with others in
trouble."

Thinking of you all at this time.
